Hollywood has been bankrupt of original ideas for years, and that town has been getting worse all the time!
Instead of creating original and exciting content, Hollywood has been way too busy creating bullshit for those entitled little shits called nerds and geeks! Tinsel town, as of late, has not met a comic book, a reboot of a goofy IP, a slasher/zombie/godzilla story that it didn't like!
When the film Sideways came out back in the year 2004 and it made $109 million out of a $16 mil budget, I honestly thought that Hollywood would begin to make films for grown-ups again, but instead they went the way of the MCU! When George Lucas sold his Star Wars franchise to Disney that studio lost its ever loving mind!
Films like Shoot the Moon, The French Lieutenant's Woman, All the Presidents' Men, and even more recent fare like Gone Girl ( a very pleasant surprise ) simply wouldn't be made these days. Even that studio that is known for character driven films, A24, is now putting the focus on action adventure crap-like a reboot series on Friday the 13th!
